Raffles Institution Year 1 Direct School Admissions 2019

The DSA exercise is an initiative by the Ministry of Education that allows for a more diverse range of talents to be recognised in student admission.

Centralised Registration via MOE DSA-Sec Portal

From 2019 onwards, applications for DSA-Sec are to be submitted via MOE DSA-Sec Portal. It is free-of-charge and the application period is from 9am on Wednesday, 8 May 2019 to 3pm on Tuesday, 4 June 2019.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.

Who is it for?

This exercise is for male Singaporean, Singapore PR and International students who have outstanding talent in academic, sports, music, aesthetics or Leadership & Character.

Successful DSA-Sec students cannot participate in the Secondary One Posting Exercise and PSLE Supplementary Exercise.

Uplift Scholarship

MOE introduced a new UPLIFT Scholarship to recognise the achievements of students from lower income families who have performed well academically or in specific talent areas to be admitted into IS and SIS. This Scholarship consists of a cash award of $800 per annum to help offset the out-of-pocket expenses for students from lower income households.

Secondary 1 Posting Exercise

This Exercise is for male Singaporean, Singapore PR, and International Students who:

  1. are currently studying in mainstream Singapore schools;
  2. did not accept any DSA offers;
  3. wish to enrol in Year 1 in RI with their PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination) grades.

Students who were successful in the DSA are not allowed to participate in the Posting Exercise, as they must honour their commitment to the school that has accepted them for the length of the programme they were admitted into.

PSLE Supplementary Intake Exercise

The PSLE (Primary School Leaving Examination) intake is for male Singaporean, Singapore PR, and International Students who:

  1. are in local mainstream schools;
  2. did not accept any DSA offers;
  3. had opted for RI in the MOE Secondary One Posting Exercise;
  4. had met our cut-off-point for the current year.

Please note that the Exercise is subject to availability.
