Instructions to Graduands

General
If you have indicated your intention to attend the Graduation ceremony, the following instructions will be helpful as you prepare for the occasion. Wherever applicable, please advise your guests accordingly.

Punctuality
Graduands must report punctually at the Auditorium, Tay Eng Soon Convention Centre (Block A Level 4) for registration.

After the ceremony has started, the College reserves the right to turn away late comers and not present them on stage.

Invitation of Guests

You are welcome to invite your parents/guardian/siblings (maximum of 2 guests) to your Graduation Ceremony. Due to the limited seating capacity, we may not be able to accommodate all requests. Priority will be given to parents/guardians.

You will need to register your guests (maximum of 2 guests) when you register your attendance online. Tickets for your registered guests will be issued during registration on the day of the graduation ceremony.

Guests who are not registered will be seated in the Hall to view the proceedings via live streaming.

Graduate Attendance Card
A Graduate Attendance Card will be given to you at the Registration Counter on your graduation day. Please register outside the Auditorium to collect the card.

The Graduate Attendance Card is important as it has a barcode that contains your name and awards (if any) records. The card is needed for you to be presented on stage.

Graduate Robing
All graduands attending the graduation ceremony must be in their graduation attire. You can put on your graduation attire after registration at the robing room before proceeding to the Auditorium where the ceremony will be held.

Ceremony Proceedings
The proceedings during each ceremony will be as follows:

  1. Academic Procession
  2. Commencement of Ceremony
  3. Speech by Principal
  4. Presentation of Certificates
  5. Academic Recession
  6. End of Ceremony
  7. Reception

During the Ceremony
Please proceed to the Auditorium after you have put on your graduation attire. All graduands should be seated at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. At the entrance, the ushers will check your Attendance Card and show you to the seat.

The Graduate Attendance Card is needed for the Ceremony Official to read out your name (and awards, if any) when you are presented on stage. Thus, please keep your Attendance Card with you AT ALL TIMES.

At the start of the ceremony, please stand up to welcome the academic leaders.

The ushers will lead you up the stage when your graduating cohort is due to be presented on stage. Please remember to have the Attendance Card on hand to be submitted to the marshal manning the barcode reader.

Please do not change your position with fellow graduands after you have submitted the Attendance Card to the marshal. This is important as your name will be read out in the sequence of the Attendance Cards collected.

At the end of each ceremony, please remain seated while the academic leaders take their leave and please take note on the instructions given before leaving the Auditorium.

After the Ceremony
All graduates and guests are invited to a reception immediately after each ceremony.

Feel free to mingle with friends, faculty and staff.

Congratulations and we hope you will have an enjoyable time!
