Sir Gareth Roberts Memorial Scholarship

The Sir Gareth Roberts Memorial Scholarship was established in 2006 in memory of the late Welsh physicist Sir Gareth Roberts, who made great contributions to NP. The Sir Gareth Roberts Memorial Scholarship is the premier scholarship provided to recognise students with excellent ‘O’ Level results, who are high achievers in their co-curricular activities and have strong leadership potential.

The recipients will have the opportunity to participate in The Christieara Programme (TCP). This specially tailored three-year programme is aimed not only at developing students’ leadership qualities and expanding their intellectual horizons but will also put them in good stead when it comes to applying for local & overseas university scholarships.

Recipients will also have the opportunity to apply for the coveted Overseas Merit Fellowship at the end of their second year.

 

Eligibility

  • Freshmen Students in all courses
  • Singapore Citizen and Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Excellent ‘O’ Level results
  • Excellent CCA achievements
  • Strong leadership qualities and potential
  • Good whole person qualities and disposition

Scholarship Awards and Conditions

 

  • Approximately $10,500 for up to 3 years, covering :

    – Annual tuition fees payable by Singapore Citizen students
    – Annual book allowance of $400

    – One time notebook allowance of $1,200 (for freshmen recipients only)

 

  • Option to enrol in The Christieara Programme (TCP)
  • Opportunity to apply for the coveted Overseas Merit Fellowship in second year
  • Tenable over course of study subject to fulfilment of renewal criteria
  • Bond free
