The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), in partnership with businesses, tertiary institutions and other maritime-related organisations, have several initiatives to promote manpower development.

Whether it is graduate, undergraduate, diploma/post-diploma courses or simply professional development training programmes, you have a wide choice of quality education options and scholarship schemes in Singapore, some of which are funded or subsidised by the MPA, other maritime-related organisations and companies.

ASMI-ITE Scholarship
Higher NITEC in

  • – Mechanical Engineering (ME);
  • – Electrical Engineering (EE);
  • – Marine & Offshore Engineering (MOE);
  • – Offshore & Marine Engineering Design (OMED)
The scholarship will be awarded to Year 2 students in the Higher NITEC in ME and EE courses. For the Higher NITEC in MOE and OMED, the ASMI-MOE and ASMI-ITE Scholarships will be awarded from Year 1.
ASMI-Marine Offshore Engineering Scholarship
Higher NITEC in

  • – Marine Offshore Engineering
Open only to Year 1 full-time students in Higher NITEC in Marine Offshore Engineering course.
Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Sponsorship
Diploma in

  • – Maritime Business;
  • – Nautical Studies;
  • – Marine Engineering
Open to students who are currently pursuing any of the 3 maritime courses offered by Singapore Polytechnic.
MaritimeONE Scholarships
Diploma in

  • – Maritime Business;
  • – Nautical Studies;
  • – Marine Engineering

Tripartite Maritime Scholarship Scheme (TMSS)

Diploma in

  • – Nautical Studies;
  • – Marine Engineering
TMSS offers an opportunity to jump-start your seafaring career and grooms promising students to become Ship Captains and Chief Engineers of ocean-going merchant ships and be leaders of Singapore’s maritime industry.

ASMI Scholarship
Diploma in

  • – Marine Engineering;
  • – Marine and Offshore Technology;
  • – Electrical Engineering;
  • – Mechanical Engineering
The scholarship may be awarded to a student in any year of study.
ASMI Marine Engineering Scholarship
Diploma in

  • – Marine Engineering
Diploma in Marine Engineering offered by Singapore Maritime Academy, Singapore Polytechnic, as first choice course of study.

Recipients can look forward to further scholarship funding by the sponsoring company for a relevant advanced diploma programme at a local polytechnic or a suitable Engineering course at a local or overseas university.

ASMI Marine & Offshore Technology Scholarship
Diploma in

  • – Marine and Offshore Technology
Applicants must select Diploma in Marine and Offshore Technology offered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic as first choice of study.

Recipients can look forward to further scholarship funding for a relevant advanced diploma programme at a local polytechnic or a suitable engineering degree course at a local or overseas university.

Howe Yoon Chong PSA Endowment Fund
No restriction on the course of study at the polytechnics or ITE. Scholarship aims to provide Singaporeans from lower income families with financial assistance to upgrade themselves through attaining formal qualifications and or technical skills.

ASMI Marine & Offshore Undergraduate (MOU) Scholarship
B. Eng (Mech) with Specialisation in Marine & Offshore Engineering Open to final year students taking the marine and offshore specialisation programme.
ASMI-Marine Technology Scholarship
B. Eng with Honours in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture / Offshore Engineering There will be an option for an additional award with an additional 1-year bond.

Sembcorp Marine Lua Cheng Eng Scholarship
